The Adara Yachts team recently traveled to Bordeaux for the highly anticipated Lagoon Exclusive Days. Amidst the storied shipyards of the Garonne, we witnessed the birth of a new icon: the Lagoon 83. This isn't just a report on a new model; it is an insider’s look at the craftsmanship, emotion, and engineering that define the next generation of luxury catamarans.

The Spirit of Bordeaux: More Than Just a Premiere

Arriving at the Lagoon shipyard, the atmosphere was electric. Unlike a standard boat show, the Exclusive Days offered a rare glimpse into the "soul" of the brand. The highlight of the event was a moving inauguration ceremony. As a dance troupe performed around the massive hull, a bottle of champagne was smashed against the bow, a timeless maritime tradition marking the official arrival of the Lagoon 83.

First Impressions: Scaling New Heights

Seeing the Lagoon 83 for the first time was a breathtaking experience. Standing "on the hard" (out of the water on blocks) in the shipyard’s yard, its sheer scale is undeniable. With a Length Overall of 24.4m (80’1’’) and a massive 11m beam, it commands the space around it.

Stepping on board, the first thing the Adara team noticed was the radical departure from traditional catamaran design. The Lagoon 83 is flooded with light. The interior, crafted by the legendary Nauta Design, feels more like a contemporary high end penthouse than a yacht. The furniture and layout are innovative, sleek, and airy, moving away from the "classic" Lagoon aesthetic toward a more sophisticated, superyacht-inspired finish.

Engineering Excellence: The Lagoon 83 Features

As experts in yacht management, we looked closely at the technical innovations that set this boat apart from its predecessors and competitors.

  • The Expandable Tender Lift: A feature seen on its sailing sister (the Eighty2), the tender lift on the Lagoon 83 is a masterpiece of engineering. It is not just a platform; it is an expandable beach club that grows in size, providing a massive, stable area for water sports or lounging at sea level.

  • The Owner’s Terrace: In the 4-cabin layout, the master suite offers a feature rarely seen on catamarans: a private "terrace" that opens directly from the hull side. This fold-down balcony creates a private sanctuary over the water, offering the owner an intimate connection with the ocean.

  • Technical Autonomy: With an 8,500L fuel capacity and a 1,600L water tank, the Lagoon 83 is designed for serious long range cruising and high-end chartering without the need for frequent port stops.

  • Smart Technology: The yacht is equipped with the Seanapps system and advanced home automation (domotica), allowing for real time monitoring of all onboard systems, a crucial feature for our management and charter programs.
